Richard Fryer is the Head of Leadership and Talent at Queensland Urban Utilities – a large organisation of around 1300 people providing water and sewerage services to the communities of South East Queensland. In this role, Richard provides strategic oversight for a range of people and culture practices, including recruitment, succession planning, organisational culture, leadership development, learning, performance management, remuneration & benefits, and diversity & inclusion.
Richard has more than 20 years’ experience in strategic Human Resources across diverse industries including telecoms, financial services and utilities in both Australia and the United Kingdom. He is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychologists Board of Australia, Member of the Australian Psychological Society, and holds a Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology. In addition to his corporate sector role, Richard provides performance psychology support to elite sports men, women and teams with both the Queensland Academy of Sport and Archery Australia’s centre of excellence in Brisbane. Richard is uniquely placed to offer insights into what makes teams work in both business and in sport.
